Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of Theatre Arts 2A, 2B and/or teacher recommendation. This course explores performance in many forms including theatre, dance, music, ritual, sports, protest, and everyday social behavior examining how performance shapes culture, meaning, and social reality. Students engage in foundational acting and stagecraft techniques through individual and group exercises, improvisation, and observation work. The course includes attending live performances, participating in class critiques, and completing written and oral reflections. Students will collaborate on quarterly and semester long projects and present both group and individual performances.
