Spanish AP: Literature and Culture

Prerequisites: Final grade of 85% in Spanish 4 Honors and/or Spanish AP:Language & Culture and/or teacher recommendation. The target language is used exclusively in the classroom. The syllabus for this course has been College Board approved, and students are expected to have a strong interest in literature and motivation for language study. This course employs a thematic approach to explore diverse texts from Peninsular Spanish, Latin American, and U.S. Hispanic traditions covering the medieval era through the 20th century. Students enhance their critical reading and analytical writing skills while developing linguistic proficiency. Students will have the opportunity to earn college credits for the course by taking the AP exam in May. Grade weighted upon successful completion of course.
